Customize

The Customize Game sheet sets a game’s name, icon, detail page artwork and colors. Customizations override the matching parts of a theme.

  • Library — long-press a game and choose Customize.
  • Detail page — tap Customize in the button row (wide screens such as iPad only).

The same controls are in Game Settings > Theme. See Customize in Game Settings.

Tap an image to select it, tap it again to deselect it, then tap Save.

  • From the game — icons shipped with the game are shown in a strip (icons only).
  • Assets library — tap All Icons, All Hero Images or All Backgrounds. The library is shared by all games and stored in iCloud Drive › Spark › Assets (Icons, Heroes, Backgrounds), or on the device without iCloud. Images you set on a game are added to it.
  • Import — pick image files from Files. To use a photo, save it to Files first.
  • Gallery — in the game’s Gallery, open an image, tap ⋯ and choose Set as Icon, Set as Hero Image or Set as Background. This applies immediately.

To delete images from the Assets library, use the Files app.

Images are stored as PNG in the game’s folder (icon.png, hero.png, background.png): icons up to 256 pixels, hero images and backgrounds up to 2048 pixels on the long side.

Remove Custom Icon, Remove Custom Hero and Remove Custom Background return the game to its theme’s image or the default. The image stays in the Assets library.

The name shown in the library and on the detail page. It does not rename the game’s folder, and it overrides the name Spark detects at launch.

To return to the detected name, open the detail page’s More menu, choose Rename Game, then tap Revert.
